"Foreign companies will be able to participate in the development and modernisation of weapons if they have special permits for the transfer of military technology and export of relevant goods and services. Particular attention is paid to the modernisation of state aviation aircraft, their components and equipment, as well as ships," said Brigadier General Anatoliy Klochko, Deputy Minister of Defence.

The decree regulates the transfer of equipment for modernisation, personnel training, quality control, and the distribution of intellectual property rights to new scientific and technical products.

Particular attention is paid to the modernisation of Soviet-era equipment that has not been updated for a long time or needs major repairs.

Earlier it was reported that the military equipment that Sweden is transferring to Ukraine will be serviced in service centres abroad. In other words, Swedish experts will train Ukrainian specialists in the maintenance of the equipment. About 60 Swedish military personnel will be involved in the creation of logistics and service centres near Ukraine.
