A remade version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion on Unreal Engine 5 is in development and may be released this summer, MP1ST reports

New details have emerged about the long-discussed remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, which is rumoured to be developed on Unreal Engine 5. The game is expected to be released in June 2025.

Here's What We Know

The first information about the remake appeared in July 2023, when a former employee of Virtuos Studio posted a message on Reddit about the development of the project. Later, Microsoft's leaked documents during the trial with the FTC mentioned the Oblivion remaster.

And now, according to MP1ST, a completely redesigned version of the game is indeed being developed. According to the information, six game systems have been updated: stamina, stealing, blocking, archery, reaction to blows, and interface.

The new blocking system draws inspiration from Souls games, replacing the original system that was considered "boring". Archery has also been improved to make it easier to play in first and third person. In addition, the stamina system has become less annoying, and the sneaking mechanic has received new icons and damage recalculation.

The game may be announced at the Xbox Developer Direct, which is scheduled to take place next week, on 23 January.
