Aston Martin Vantage Roadster unveiled officially with fastest folding roof ever
Aston Martin has officially unveiled the Vantage Roadster. This model is not just more powerful than the previous version, but also comes close to the DB12 Volante in terms of performance.
Here's What We Know
Like the coupe, the Vantage Roadster is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 656bhp and 800Nm of torque. This is a significant increase of 153bhp and 115Nm compared to the previous generation. This result has been achieved thanks to larger turbochargers, new camshafts and powertrain tuning changes.
The engine is combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled friction differential. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.5 seconds, and the top speed of the rear-wheel drive car reaches 325 km/h.
The Vantage Roadster is expectedly heavier than the coupe, namely by 60kg. The car has a 49:51 weight distribution, double wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension.
The roof folding mechanism allows the roof to open or close at speeds up to 50 km/h in 6.8 seconds. Aston Martin claims it is the fastest automatic roof in the world. It can also be operated remotely with a key.
All Vantage Roadster models are fitted with an 11-speaker audio system as standard, with a system developed in conjunction with Bowers & Wilkins available as an option.
First deliveries of the cars are expected in the second quarter of 2025. The price has not yet been announced.
