The long-awaited sequel to Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Messiah saga will start shooting in Budapest in September 2025. Production will return to Origo Film Studios, which has become a key location for the Dune franchise.

Here's What We Know

After the huge success of Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two, Dune: Messiah will continue the epic story of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), who is now the emperor of the universe. The film will explore the political intrigue, betrayal and personal sacrifice that threaten his reign, especially the danger to his beloved Chani (Zendaya) and their unborn heir.

The cast will once again include Chalamet and Zendaya, as well as Florence Pugh and Anya Taylor-Joy. Denis Villeneuve will write and direct the film. Legendary Entertainment will produce with Mary Parant, Cale Boyer, Brian Herbert and others.

Origo Studios in Budapest will become the main hub for the production of Dune: Messiah. Filming will take place from September 2025 to January 2026, and the film is scheduled to premiere on 18 December 2026.
