Wyze adds artificial intelligence to cameras: text alerts now describe events in real time

Wyze has introduced a new feature for its cameras that uses artificial intelligence. Now cameras can send text alerts describing events they capture in real time.

Here's What We Know

These notifications are part of the Cam Unlimited Pro premium subscription. Wyze cameras, which are affordable and compact options for improving home security, can now send text alerts describing what they see.

The Descriptive Alerts feature allows users to receive not only motion alerts, but also a detailed description of what happened. For example, the camera can notify you when a person falls off a scooter or when raccoons overturn bins. Also, if a pizza is left on the doorstep, the camera will record this moment. These alerts go beyond motion notifications and add humour and useful details to what's happening.

However, an important feature is the AI video search function that helps you quickly find the videos you need. Instead of watching hours of video, users can enter a text query and find a specific event. Other features of the Cam Unlimited Pro subscription include multi-camera viewing, 60 days of cloud storage, and advanced automation.

While Wyze cameras themselves are quite affordable, the Cam Unlimited Pro subscription costs $19.99 per month. For US users, this can be a significant expense, but having this feature helps the company stay competitive with other manufacturers such as Ring.
