Sony Xperia 5 V receives update to Android 15

After the owners of Sony's flagship Xperia 1 V received the update to Android 15, users of the compact Xperia 5 V can now enjoy the new operating system as well.

Here's What We Know

The 1GB update has already begun rolling out to users and brings all the major innovations of Android 15.

The update for Xperia 5 V, which is 1052.4 MB in size and has version "67.2.A.2.41", brings significant changes to the smartphone's functionality. Users who receive the new version of the operating system will be able to take advantage of improved personalisation options and new useful tools.

  • Wallpaper and style settings - users can now customise the look of their device with new options for wallpaper and interface style.
  • Private Space - a feature that allows you to create separate areas on your phone to store confidential data and personal information.
  • Screenshot via Quick Settings is a convenient way to take screenshots without having to open menus or use hardware buttons.
  • Dashboard (Side Sense) panel - a new panel for quick access to functions and applications.
  • Updated Quick Settings and Notifications panels - with the new update, the panels have become even more user-friendly, allowing you to configure important phone functions faster.
  • Audio Sharing - a feature that allows users to simultaneously connect multiple devices to one smartphone to listen to audio together.

The Android 15 update for Xperia 5 V does not include the 4K screen display feature that the older Xperia 1 V received. This is because the Xperia 5 V has an FHD+ display, not 4K.
