Ukrainian border guards adopt the latest Dita artillery system
Ukrainian border guards have received a 155-mm Dita self-propelled artillery system (APU). This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service.
Here's What We Know
Soldiers are already mastering new weapons that will soon be used to destroy the Russian occupiers on the front line as part of the Defence Forces.
Earlier it was reported that the Netherlands had ordered nine and later six 155mm Dita artillery systems from the Czech Republic for Ukraine. It is not yet known whether these systems have been handed over to the border guards or whether they were received in another way, for example, under a state defence order. At the end of December 2024, it became known that the artillerymen of the 12th Azov Brigade had also received Dita.
The Dita was developed by the Czech company Excalibur Army on the basis of the Czechoslovakian wheeled Dana vz.77. It has a high level of automation that allows the commander to enter data via an on-board computer, while the ballistic computer independently calculates the firing parameters. Automation provides gun aiming, loading and firing.
Dita is capable of firing 5-6 shots per minute, its ammunition capacity is 40 shells, and its range is 39 kilometres. Due to its high cross-country ability, the system can quickly change position and manoeuvre in rough terrain.
