Asus may soon unveil a cheaper smartphone for gamers, the ROG Phone 9 FE

According to the latest leaks, Asus is planning to release a new ROG Phone 9 FE smartphone model, which will be an addition to the existing ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro.

It looks like Asus wants to follow the strategy of Samsung, which has created a line of smartphones labelled FE (Fan Edition) and offers flagship features in more affordable devices. According to certification documents from Malaysia and Thailand, Asus has registered a new ROG Phone 9 FE gaming smartphone, where FE just might mean it's a stripped-down version of the gaming flagship. The model name has been confirmed on certification sites, but the specs of the device itself have yet to be revealed.

It is speculated that the ROG Phone 9 FE could get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, just like the previous flagship model, the ROG Phone 8. The new ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro models use the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. If Asus is really inspired by Samsung's strategy, we can expect the ROG Phone 9 FE to have lower specs compared to the ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro, but also a more affordable price. It is expected that the novelty will appear on the market in the near future.
