New Ukrainian "bird": Poseidon UAVs are allowed to be used in the Ukrainian Defence Forces
Ukraine has codified and allowed the use of the Poseidon reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle system in the Defence Forces, the Ministry of Defence has announced.
Here's What We Know
This is the H10 Poseidon model by Swarmly, which has been used by the Ukrainian military since the summer of 2022 to fight the Russian invaders. In July 2022, the H10 Poseidon Mk II drones for the Air Assault Forces were purchased at the expense of volunteers. After that, they were delivered to various units of the Defence Forces.
In short, the H10 Poseidon Mk II is used for reconnaissance, surveillance and fire control, including artillery.
This drone has a range of up to 150 km, a flight altitude of up to 4000 m and a speed of 75 km/h. In addition, it is equipped with electronic warfare (EW) protection and Israeli optics with a 40x zoom and thermal imaging camera. It operates very quietly, leaves no heat trace and can function even without satellite communications.
A special feature of the drone is its propulsion system: it has an electric motor with a push rotor and four engines for vertical take-off and landing, which avoids the use of an emergency parachute.
