Huawei continues to lead the Chinese smartphone market, outperforming rivals such as Apple and Xiaomi. The company's success is partly due to its strategy of self-producing hardware and software, which helps to reduce the impact of US sanctions.

Here's What We Know

The company is now preparing to unveil its new flagship, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, and according to preliminary data, it could have a significant impact on the market.

According to rumours published by an insider on Weibo, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra will feature a three-camera rear camera system developed by the company itself. This will include a huge 1-inch sensor for the main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a "super-large" periscopic zoom lens with a 1/1.3-inch sensor. For comparison, the Pura 70 series uses OmniVision sensors.

Huawei is also working on a new Kirin 5G chip for the Pura 80 series. The chip is likely to be called the Kirin 9020, and it should deliver even more power and performance. The company is also expected to significantly improve its artificial intelligence capabilities, which could lead to further improvements in image processing.

The Huawei Pura 80 series is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2025, probably in April, following the release schedule of the Pura 70 series. However, the company has not yet confirmed these details. The official specifications and features of the new flagships may be revealed during the official announcement.
