Netflix plans to expand cloud gaming with co-op games

Netflix continues to develop its cloud gaming service with plans to add co-operative games that can be streamed to TVs. The company's co-CEO, Greg Peters, said during the announcement of financial results for the fourth quarter of 2024 that these new games should become a modern version of family board games or TV shows.
Here's What We Know
Netflix started beta testing cloud gaming in 2023 for a select group of subscribers and plans to continue investing in this area. In addition to co-operative games, the company will focus on creating narrative games based on its own intellectual property, which have already become a fan favourite.
Recently, Netflix's gaming division has undergone significant changes: former head Leanne Loombe moved to Annapurna Interactive, and the company closed its AAA studio, which has not released a single game and removed most interactive projects. Nevertheless, Netflix continues to expand its game catalogue by adding such well-known titles as Civilization VI and Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition.
