The Video Game History Foundation (VGHF) has announced the launch of its digital library, which will be available to the public from 30 January 2025. This initiative will provide players, researchers, and enthusiasts with the opportunity to get acquainted with materials related to the history of video games.

Here's What We Know

The VGHF Digital Library will feature:

  • Over 1500 rare and out-of-print video game magazines.
  • Promotional materials, press kits, and artwork from cult video games.
  • Previously unpublished game development materials, including concept art and internal documentation.

The foundation, founded in 2017, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of video games. The launch of the digital library is an important step in providing wide access to archival materials that were previously available only on physical media.

This project will contribute to the research and understanding of the evolution of video games by providing access to materials that were previously inaccessible to a wide audience.
