A new model in the ASUS ROG Phone line of gaming smartphones, the ROG Phone 9 FE, is expected to be released this year. Like Samsung's Fan Edition, this model will be an affordable variant of the flagship lineup. While ASUS has yet to make an official announcement, the phone has already received several certifications.

Here's What We Know

According to industry sources, the ROG Phone 9 FE will feature a 6.78-inch FHD+ Samsung Flexible AMOLED LTPO display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, which can go up to 185Hz in Game Genie mode. The display will have a maximum brightness of 2500 nits and will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. In fact, this is the same display used in the flagships of the ROG Phone 9 series.

The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with Adreno 730 GPU, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The main camera will be a 50 MP Sony IMX890 with optical stabilisation, complemented by a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5 MP macro camera. For selfies, there will be a 32 MP front camera.

The 5500 mAh battery will support 65W fast charging as well as wireless charging. The smartphone will run Android 15 with the ROG user interface.

The design of the new ROG Phone 9 FE will be similar to the flagship models, including AirTrigger controls and support for IP68 dust and water resistance. In addition, the smartphone will get dual stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 7 and a fingerprint scanner built into the display.

The device will get at least one "Phantom Black" colour and will measure 163.8×76.8×8.9mm at 225g. Below you can see how the novelty will supposedly look like.
