WhatsApp may soon allow iOS users to use multiple accounts on one device.

Here's What We Know

The iOS beta update brings this feature, which has been available to Android users since 2023. This will allow users with two phone numbers to store all their conversations in one app, instead of using two separate apps for different accounts.

In version 25.2.10.70 for iOS, users can choose how to add a second account: set it up as a separate primary account or "scan the QR code to link the new account as a satellite account". The update is already available for beta testers through the Apple TestFlight programme.

On Android, using two accounts at the same time requires a dual SIM situation, as each account must have its own phone number. WhatsApp also offers a separate WhatsApp Business app where users can create a second account using a different phone number, but this still means switching between the two apps.

An update for Android and testing for iOS allows users with two phone numbers to keep all conversations in one app.

WhatsApp recently launched a new feature that allows users to add music to status updates. Using the Music button in the status editor, you can choose a song from the extensive Meta library (the same as on Instagram). Search for your favourite hits, trending songs or artists and add them to your photos or videos.
