OnePlus has released a new software update for the OnePlus 12R that allows you to make calls without a mobile network connection.

Here's What We Know

This feature will be useful not only in remote areas, but also in crowded places where mobile networks can be overloaded.

The OxygenOS 15.0.0.500 update is available for OnePlus 12R users in India, Europe, Global, and North America. To install it, you must already have an updated version of OxygenOS 15, as users who are still using OxygenOS 14 will not be able to install this update without first upgrading to the new version of the operating system.

The main new features are BeaconLink and Touch to Share. BeaconLink allows you to make calls without a mobile network or Wi-Fi connection. However, both users must have compatible devices to use this feature. According to official information, the technology has a range of up to 500 m, which makes it useful in congested mobile networks. In addition to OnePlus, BeaconLink is also available on some Oppo models.

Another new feature is Touch to Share, which allows you to share files and photos between OnePlus 12R and iOS devices. System stability has also been improved for a better user experience, and the update includes the January 2025 Android security patch to protect against threats.

This update is an important step in improving the ability of OnePlus smartphones to stay connected in a variety of situations.
