The new thriller Flight Risk, directed by Mel Gibson and starring Mark Wahlberg, debuted at number one at the box office, grossing $12 million in its first weekend.
Here's What We Know
The film tells the story of a pilot who transports a US Marshal and a fugitive through the Alaskan wilderness, where tensions rise and trust is tested as not everyone on board is who they say they are.
Despite a modest budget of $25 million, Flight Risk managed to top the box office, outperforming films such as Mufasa: The Lion King and One of Them Days.
However, critics were not favourable to the film: on Rotten Tomatoes, it has a freshness rating of only 25%, while audiences rated it 64%.
