To celebrate African Diaspora History Month in February, Apple has introduced a new Black Unity collection. It includes the Black Unity Sport Loop for Apple Watch, the Unity Rhythm watch face, and matching wallpapers for iPhone and iPad.

Here's What We Know

The Black Unity Sport Loop is available for pre-order today, and the watch face and wallpaper will be available with the iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, and watchOS 11.3 software updates that have already been released this week.

The collection, according to Apple, is "inspired by the rhythm of humanity" and was designed by African creatives and their allies in the company.

The Unity Rhythm collection combines the colours of the pan-African flag: black, green, and red, according to Apple's press release. The Black Unity Sport Loop bracelet is made with a special loop structure that creates a depth effect: green is visible on one side of each loop and red on the other.

The new version of the Unity Rhythm watch face has unique numbers created by intertwined threads of red, green and yellow. When the user raises their hand to look at the time, the abstract paint strokes smoothly transform into clear numbers.

The iPhone and iPad wallpapers feature the word "Unity" in the same customised style.

The Black Unity collection is an important step in Apple's commitment to diversity and inclusivity in design, and provides an opportunity for users to support and celebrate the cultural heritage of the African diaspora around the world.

Recently, insider Mark Gurman reported that Apple stores are preparing to update their products. And he noted that for the past four years, the company has announced the Black Unity campaign at the end of January, presenting a new Apple Watch bracelet, watch face, and iPhone wallpaper inspired by the colours of the pan-African flag.
