The next version of Windows 11 will include a handy colour-coded laptop battery level indicator: Microsoft is testing new features

Microsoft has started testing the new version of Windows 11 - Insider Preview Build 26120.3000.

The company has focused on bug fixes and general improvements, but there is one major change that users have been asking for for a long time.

Here's What We Know

The next version of Windows 11, which is currently being tested in the Dev Channel, will feature an improved laptop battery indicator.

The designation will no longer be neutral-white and will get three coloured markers: green means that the laptop is charging, yellow - that it is running on battery power in power-saving mode, which automatically turns on when the charge drops to 20%, and red - that the charge level is dangerously low and the laptop needs to be plugged in.

In addition, the developer will add the ability to display the charge level in per cent. This indicator will be placed next to the battery indicator. This option is enabled in the Settings > Power battery tab.
