Johan Pilestedt, co-founder of Arrowhead Game Studios, has announced his temporary retirement from development after almost 11 years of continuous work on the Helldivers universe.

In a lengthy post on Twitter , he admitted that the intense work forced him to put his personal life, family, and friends on the back burner. "11 years of round-the-clock work on one project has taken much more from me than I planned," the developer wrote.

Pylestedt stressed that the Arrowhead team will continue to support Helldivers 2 in his absence. He himself plans to devote time to himself and his family, and after his return, he will start working on a new project of the studio.
