OPPO Find X8 Ultra could get a flat-panel display for the first time, which will have very thin bezels
OPPO is working on a new Find X8 Ultra smartphone, which, according to rumours, may ditch the traditional curved display in favour of a flat screen. This was reported by a well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station on the Weibo platform.
Here's What We Know
All previous models in the Find X series have had curved displays, so switching to a flat screen will be a significant change for the brand. In addition, the Find X8 Ultra will feature LIPO (overmolding low injection pressure) technology, which will provide extremely narrow screen bezels. This technology has already been used in the Xiaomi 15 series.
The move to a flat screen is also seen in other flagship models such as the OnePlus 13 and iQOO 13, indicating a growing trend among smartphone makers. Samsung also moved to a flat screen for the Galaxy S24 Ultra last year and continued the trend with the S25 Ultra this year. The Find X8 Ultra is expected to be exclusive to the Chinese market like its predecessor, and exact launch dates remain unknown for now.
