There's no stopping them: No Man's Sky authors released another large-scale update with "a trillion new planets"
Developer Hello Games has released another major update for No Man's Sky called Worlds Part 2, which adds billions of new star systems and trillions of planets, including gas giants, to the game.
Here's What We Know
The update continues the work begun in Worlds Part 1 and introduces a new landscape generation system that provides more detailed and varied landscapes. Players can expect huge mountains, deep oceans, and new biomes with unique features. Oceans can now reach several kilometres in depth, have improved lighting and new visual effects. In addition, new underwater creatures have been added to explore.
Gas giants have become a significant addition to the game. These planets are ten times bigger than the previous largest planets in the game and have unstable cores with powerful storms, which creates new challenges for players. Exploring such planets is considered content for experienced players.
The update also includes a new grand quest that brings together various storylines developed over the past nine years. Additionally, the cooking system has been improved, a new Colossus Refiner has been introduced, and a starship archiving function has been added for ship collectors. In the coming weeks, we plan to launch a new limited-time expedition called Titan, where players will be able to get a rare live starship.
More details about the Worlds Part 2 update can be found in the official patch notes on the Hello Games website. A detailed video from the developers accompanying the release is also available.
