It was Phil Spencer who proposed the collaboration between Team Ninja and PlatinumGames for Ninja Gaiden 4
During the recent Xbox Developer Direct, Ninja Gaiden 4 was announced and, according to Fumihiko Yasuda, the idea of the studio's cooperation with Platinum Games belongs to Phill Spencer.
Here's What We Know
In a conversation with Game Watch, Yasuda said that the Ninja Gaiden series was suspended more than a decade ago, but Team Ninja has long been considering the possibility of creating a new game. However, they could not decide on a plan. He noted that Koei Tecmo president Hisashi Koinuma and PlatinumGames president Atsushi Inaba, who were good friends, had the opportunity to discuss the issue.
Yasuda also pointed out the experience of both studios in creating action games. He explained that since this was the first new Ninja Gaiden game in ten years, Team Ninja wanted to work with PlatinumGames, which had already developed such well-known action games as Bayonetta and NieR: Automata. According to him, this is how the cooperation began.
Spencer himself previously mentioned that the discussion of Ninja Gaiden 4 began six or seven years ago. He explained that after numerous conversations with Japanese publishers, the project finally took shape.
Where To Play
Upon release, Ninja Gaiden 4 will be available on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game will also be available on Game Pass.
When We Can Expect It
The release is expected in autumn this year.
