Ford unveiled an all-electric NASCAR prototype inspired by the Mustang Mach-E
Ford's all-electric NASCAR prototype looks similar to the Mustang Mach-E externally, but technically it's a completely different car.
Here's What We Know
The car has been given a carbon fibre monocoque like race cars. Suspension, brakes, steering wheel and wheels from a modern NASCAR Cup Series car. A 78 kWh battery and three electric motors. Ford does not yet name their exact power, however, a similar configuration of the previous EV prototype NASCAR in 2024 produced 1341 hp (1000 kW), so here we should expect something similar.
The car also gets a race-inspired aerodynamic package with a massive rear wing. The livery echoes the Mustang Dark Horse that competes in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series. Inside, there's a roll cage and a rearward-shifted driver's seat.
The prototype will join the Ford Performance family of demonstration vehicles, where it will join the SuperTruck, SuperVan 4.2, Super Cobra Jet 1800 and Mustang Mach-E 1400. The latter is built in collaboration with the RTR Vehicles workshop and is powered by seven electric motors that develop up to 1,419bhp.
