Yutong unveiled the world's first 26-metre three-section articulated electric bus

China's Yutong has officially unveiled what is claimed to be the world's first 26-metre (85ft) three-section articulated electric bus. The first unit has already rolled off the assembly line at its Zhengzhou plant to travel to Mexico, where the company has previously delivered more than 100 trolleybuses.

Here's What We Know

Yutong does not disclose the technical specifications of its creation, mentioning only "the company's latest battery and engine technology", as well as "long range", "short charging time" and "low noise level". In addition, the electric bus is equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System and the internal configuration complies with Mexican requirements for transporting people with disabilities. Finally, the bus is equipped with high-efficiency air conditioning systems to provide passengers with a comfortable ride in the hot Mexican climate.

According to Ren Wenhui, head of Yutong Mexico, the bus is tailor-made to meet the demands of the Mexican market. It should improve the quality of transport and contribute to the modernisation of transport not only in Mexico but also throughout Latin America.
