Electronic Arts has unveiled Battlefield Labs, a platform for public testing of all new instalments of the Battlefield franchise

Insiders have repeatedly reported that Electronic Arts is devoting huge resources to testing the next Battlefield instalment and plans to involve gamers in the process. Today the company officially unveiled the Battlefield Labs platform, with the help of which will allow the community to participate in the development of all future games in the series.

Here's What We Know

Battlefield Labs is a large-scale online service that will allow gamers to test and leave feedback on new shooters in the Battlefield series, so that the developers, after studying the opinions, can make the best possible games.

The platform will launch soon, but the developers will invite only a few thousand gamers from North America and Europe to test the next Battlefield, after which they will gradually expand the number of participants.

To get an invitation to Battlefield Labs you need to register on the official EA website and apply.

We want our community to play a key role in the future of Battlefield, and now we have that opportunity. We will test all elements of the future game together, but not all content presented will be complete. You will have access to various parts of the unfinished game and, under a non-disclosure agreement, will share your impressions with us to help shape the final product.

We are proud of the state of our new game even at the pre-alpha stage. We've been testing the game relentlessly for a long time now, and your feedback will help speed up the development process. This is an unprecedented moment for the entire Battlefield series. We'll start by testing the core elements of the new game, such as combat and destructibility, then move on to balance and refinement of weapons, vehicles and gadgets. Eventually, all of these elements will come together on maps and in various game modes.

And yes, we will be testing Conquest and Breakthrough - the heart and soul of our full-scale military experience. In addition, BF Labs will be the place to explore new ideas and to fine-tune and modify various elements of Battlefield to create a deeper and more strategic gaming experience.

In a special video, the developers talked about their plans and hopes for Battlefield Labs and even showed some gameplay footage of the next instalment of Battlefield, which is being created by four studios: DICE (key developer), Criterion Games, Motive and Ripple Effect, and it was recently revealed that BioWare employees are also involved in the process.
