Rumour: Valve is developing a new console to compete with PlayStation and Xbox

Valve, known for its Steam Deck portable console, is working on a new device that is supposed to be a competitor for PlayStation and Xbox. According to the insider eXtas1s, the new console, known under the codename Project Fremont, will be a stationary device designed for use with a TV.

Here's What We Know

According to the leaks, Project Fremont will have an HDMI CEC port, which will allow you to control the device using the TV remote. The console will be built on the AMD Lilac hardware platform, which will provide twice the processor power and four times more powerful graphics compared to Steam Deck.

Valve's strategy is to enter the stationary console market, which is dominated by Microsoft and Sony, as well as the multimedia device market. It is expected that the new console will be affordable, approximately in the range of 200 to 300 euros.

But remember that all rumours should be taken with a grain of salt.
