Great news from Microsoft: the popular strategy game Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is coming soon to PlayStation 5

As we already reported, Microsoft and World's Edge studio announced the release of Age of Mythology: Retold on PlayStation 5 - this game will lose its console exclusive status on the 4th of March.

But it's not all good news for Japanese console users and strategy fans.

Here's What We Know

The American developer announced that Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, a remake of the 1999 historical strategy game, will be released on PlayStation 5 in spring 2025.

The re-release was first released on PC in 2019 and became available on Xbox Series and Xbox One in 2023.

Simultaneously with the release on PS5, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will get a major add-on on all platforms, but neither its name nor content has been revealed by the developer yet.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is rightfully considered to be one of the best modern strategies and enjoys stable popularity due to deep and exciting gameplay, excellent technical execution and a huge selection of unique civilisations.
