Civilization 7 developer interested in using Joy-Con as a mouse on Switch 2

During the presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2 in January, the company demonstrated updated Joy-Con controllers, which are likely to have mouse-like functionality. Civilization VII executive producer Dennis Shirk called this possibility "definitely intriguing".
Here's What We Know
Shirk noted that such a feature could facilitate the adaptation of strategies on consoles, but it is too early to talk about its implementation. He emphasised that when developing for consoles, you always have to make compromises in terms of management, so such innovations can be useful.
Earlier in the Switch 2 trailer, the new Joy-Con was shown sliding across the surface, resembling the operation of a mouse. This led to speculation that the controllers could be used as a mouse for more precise control in games.
Although there is no official confirmation of this feature yet, such an innovation could open up new possibilities for genres that traditionally require precise control, such as strategy and shooters.
