After announcing the successor to the Nintendo Switch, the company has finally provided details about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct event.

Here's What We Know

The Nintendo Direct will take place on 2 April 2025 at 6am PST (4pm KST). During the event, Nintendo plans to provide more details about the new console, including possible games for the platform, such as the anticipated Mario Kart 9 and Metroid Prime 4.

Details such as the console's official size, whether it will use an LCD instead of OLED, battery life, and other features remain unknown for now. However, what is currently known is that most games for the current Switch, both physical and digital variants, will be compatible with the new console, although some games may not be supported or may not be fully compatible. Joy-Con controllers will also reportedly be magnetically attached to the console and feature a new C button and new triggers.

Nintendo is also planning a series of Nintendo Switch 2 Experience events where gamers can get their hands on the console before its launch later in the year.
