Asus won't sell Zenfone 12 Ultra in the US, but cuts price of Zenfone 11 Ultra
Asus has introduced two new smartphones: The ROG Phone 9 FE, a more affordable version of the ROG Phone 9 Pro, and the Zenfone 12 Ultra, which is more suitable for regular users than gamers. However, the Zenfone 12 Ultra will not be available in all regions.
Here's What We Know
In particular, the smartphone will not appear on the US and North American markets, which came as a surprise to many.
Asus representatives did not give a reason for this decision, but it is probably due to the lower popularity of the Zenfone line in the US compared to the ROG Phone series. The company notes that this does not exclude the possibility of releasing other Zenfone models in the US market in the future.
The Zenfone 12 Ultra will retail in Europe for €1,099 (approximately $1,142), which is several hundred dollars cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for $1,299.99 (512GB version). Although Samsung offers more features and a longer support period, the Zenfone 12 Ultra has the advantage in terms of RAM (16GB vs. 12GB) and charging speed.
For those looking for a more affordable option, Asus is offering the Zenfone 11 Ultra for $629.99, a significant discount from the original price of $899. This smartphone has similar features to the newer model, including screen size, camera configuration, battery, and charging speed. However, it comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which is less than the new Zenfone 12 Ultra.
