Samsung prepares AI-enabled 6G: improved call quality and wider coverage
Samsung has published a new white paper detailing the future of sixth-generation communications. The company claims that 6G will significantly outperform current 5G networks thanks to the use of artificial intelligence.
Here's What We Know
AI will play a key role in the telecommunication system, helping to automatically optimise the quality of communication, reduce delays, and increase the overall efficiency of networks. This will make the connection more reliable, regardless of the load or conditions of use.

The company has identified five main areas that will benefit from 6G
- Immersive XR - a new level of interaction in entertainment, healthcare and science. Virtual and augmented reality will become even more realistic and accessible.
- Digital twins - creating virtual copies of physical objects for security, modelling, and testing. This can be used in industry, architecture, and even healthcare.
- Mass communication - continuous communication between sensors, devices, and terminals, which is especially important for the Internet of Things (IoT) and automated systems.
- Ubiquitous connectivity - expanding coverage through the integration of terrestrial and satellite networks, making communication available even in the most remote corners of the world.
- Fixed wireless access (FWA) is a technology that will provide fast Internet connectivity without the need for physical cables.
Samsung notes that AI will not only improve the quality of communication but also help to reduce energy consumption, cut costs for operators and expand network coverage.
Samsung predicts that 6G standards will be approved by 2030, and research and testing will significantly increase in the coming years.
