Konami hasn't released any new instalments of the cult Castlevania series for more than a decade. During this time, an animated series, a collection of remasters, themed events in some popular games and collections of merchandise were released, but no new games were offered to the public.

However, it was reported that the Japanese publisher still plans to revive this classic series.

Here's What We Know

Portuguese website Geekinout has information from its own sources that a big-budget game based on the Castlevania franchise will be announced in 2025.

No further details, including who is in charge of development, have been provided.

It is possible that Konami used the services of a third-party studio, as it was in the development of remakes of Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Recall, the last part of Castlevania was released in 2014 and was called Lords of Shadow 2. It was released by MercurySteam studio. By the way, the producer of the first part of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was the legendary developer Hideo Kojima.
