Media: Amazon will unveil a new model of Alexa voice assistant at the end of February

Amazon is preparing for the presentation of a new model of voice assistant Alexa and has already sent out invitations to the event to members of the press.

According to Reuters, journalists have been invited to a special event that will take place on 26 February. Amazon will unveil an updated AI assistant that, according to leaks, will integrate technology from AI startup Anthropic, in which Amazon has invested more than $8 billion.

Thanks to this collaboration, Alexa 2 (the name is tentative) will be able to remember user preferences, offer personalised recommendations and provide multiple answers in a single conversation.

It is expected that Amazon will first give free access to the updated assistant to a limited number of users, and later the company may introduce a paid subscription, costing $5-10, while the current version of Alexa will remain free and all already released devices will be compatible with the new assistant.
