Don't expect a Nintendo Direct in February: a reputable insider has denied rumours of an upcoming event

In January, Nintendo finally unveiled the next-generation Nintendo Switch hybrid console, which has been hugely rumoured for a long time. During the presentation, the Japanese manufacturer said that the first games for the new device will be unveiled on 2 April at a special Nintendo Direct show.

However, many analysts and insiders claimed that before this event, most likely in February, there will be another Direct, which will be the last word on games for the original Switch. But it looks like that's not going to happen.

Here's What We Know

Reputable insider NateTheHate, who was the first to share a reliable date for the Switch 2 presentation and revealed a lot of other interesting information, refutes rumours of a February Nintendo Direct.

NateTheHate hasn't heard anything to indicate that Nintendo is planning another big show, and the only February event he's sure of is Sony's State of Play(rumoured to take place on February 14).

The insider promised that as soon as he knows some exclusive details about the Nintendo Direct, he will immediately share them with the community, but for now he believes that the Japanese company simply has nothing to show for Switch (1) and all its attention is focused on building a launch line-up of games for the new console.
