Sony's WH-1000XM6 headphones could be unveiled very soon

Recent regulatory filings suggest that Sony is preparing to launch its new WH-1000XM6 headphones.

The headset is expected to feature a redesigned hinge, removable ear cushions, Bluetooth 5.3 support with LE Audio and possible battery improvements. The headphones will reportedly be available in black, silver and blue colours.

The WH-1000XM5, released in 2022, is still one of the best on the market and now Sony is preparing to introduce its successor. The new headset has recently received several regulatory approvals and certifications after appearing on the FCC list last month. The latest observation was made on Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority website with model number YY2954. The same model number was also spotted on the Walkman blog on the UL Solutions website.

All indications are that the Sony WH-1000XM6 will be launched in the coming months, possibly in May, as the previous model was unveiled 3 years ago at the same time. Sony's short-term confidentiality with the FCC ends in July 2025, so the launch will definitely happen before then.
