Relic Entertainment will revive iconic strategies: the authors of Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War shared their ambitious plans
Canadian studio Relic Entertainment - the author of the cult strategy games Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - in 2024 received independence from Sega and the opportunity to implement their own ideas. Now the team has told in detail about their plans for the future.
Here's What We Know
Relic Entertainment plans to return the public's interest in real-time strategy games and revive some cult franchises and first of all their own. To do this, Relic intends to release updated versions of old games, as well as sequels of well-known franchises, so that modern gamers can join them.
The company will continue to support Company of Heroes 3 by releasing DLC and content updates. Thus, in February the release of Fire Steel add-on for Company of Heroes 3 will take place (only on PC).
In addition to large-scale projects, the famous company will release smaller games, but what they will be - is not yet reported. Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell commented on the studio's plans:
Relic Entertainment's key traits have always been resilience and a love for creating memorable games. This new chapter serves as an important milestone for us. We are confident that by staking our independence and focusing on our strengths, we will be able to produce innovative, high quality games that will resonate with players around the world. Relic Entertainment has a bright future ahead of us and we are excited to embark on this journey.
