Powerbeats Pro 2 gets firmware updates from day one

Apple has announced the release of new Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones, which will go on sale on 13 February 2025. As it became known, the new headphones will receive a firmware update that will be available from the first day.
Here's What We Know
Powerbeats Pro 2 will be shipped with firmware version 7B15, and after the update, they will receive version 7B24. Although the details of the update have not yet been disclosed, we can expect the new features to improve the device's performance.
One of the most notable new features is the ability to monitor heart rate, which Apple has integrated into its wireless headphones for the first time. Powerbeats Pro 2 are equipped with optical LED sensors that measure heart rate through the blood flow in the ears. In addition, the new model supports Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), personalised spatial audio, and a new H2 chip for improved connectivity.
Important design changes have also been made: the earbud is 50% smaller, more earbud options have been added, the earbuds are 20% lighter, and the case has improved battery life.
To install the update, users need to connect the headphones to a power source and make sure they are within Bluetooth range of an iPhone, iPad or Mac connected to Wi-Fi. For Android users, the update is available through the Beats app.
Powerbeats Pro 2 can be ordered on Apple's official website for $250.
It is likely that a similar system will be applied to future AirPods. The well-known Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman confirmed in his article that the new AirPods with the heart rate monitoring function still need several months before entering the market.
