Samsung seems to be relying on the thinness of its devices once again. According to the latest rumours, the upcoming Galaxy Fold 7 will be the brand's thinnest foldable smartphone, but it will have to sacrifice the S Pen capabilities.

Here's What We Know

According to information from insider @kro_roe, Samsung plans to make the Galaxy Fold 7 even thinner, which may affect the stylus support. However, there are no details on which S Pen functions will be limited or completely excluded.

The Galaxy Fold 6, available now, is 5.6 mm thick when unfolded. A special version of the Fold, which is only available in Korea and China, is even thinner at 4.9 mm, but it does not support the S Pen at all. It is likely that the Galaxy Fold 7 will be even thinner, and because of this, Samsung may completely abandon support for the S Pen.

Samsung has also reduced the thickness of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but whether this is due to the simplification of the S Pen is still unknown. Meanwhile, competitors such as Oppo are already releasing ultra-thin foldable smartphones. For example, the Oppo Find N5 may be about 4 mm thick.

So far, this information has not been confirmed, so we should treat it as a rumour. The tendency to reduce the thickness of gadgets is becoming more and more obvious.

Recently, it became known that Samsung is preparing 6G with AI support: improved communication quality and wider coverage. The company claims that 6G will significantly outperform current 5G networks thanks to the use of artificial intelligence. Samsung predicts that 6G standards will be approved by 2030
