Most Chinese smartphone manufacturers have recently switched to silicon-carbon batteries to improve the battery life of their devices while maintaining a slim form factor. Now, according to the latest news, Samsung is also planning to adopt this technology.

Here's What We Know

South Korean publication FNNews reports that the Galaxy S26 smartphones could feature a battery capacity of up to 7,000 mAh, which is higher than most Chinese rivals. This could lead to increased competition between brands, which would ultimately benefit all users.

Thanks to the battery optimisation in One UI 7, the latest Galaxy flagships already offer excellent battery life despite having the same battery capacity as their predecessors. If the silicon-carbon battery rumours turn out to be true, we're likely to see a significant increase in battery life with the Galaxy S26 series.

With the increase in battery capacity, the S26 lineup is also expected to support faster 65W charging as well. However, these are only rumours for now and should be treated with caution.
