Apple has added MacBook Pro and Mac mini models with M4 chips to its certified refurbished store. This is the first time since their announcement in October 2024 in the US, Canada, the UK, and Ireland.

Here's What We Know

Some refurbished MacBook Pro models with M4 chips are also available in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and other European countries.

As with other refurbished Macs, prices for new models are reduced by about 15% compared to new devices on the Apple online store. It is worth noting that the range of refurbished products changes frequently, and the checkout button is sometimes unavailable for some configurations in certain countries, so you should check regularly for the models you want.

Apple has not yet started selling refurbished iMacs with the M4 chip.

Refurbished Macs always come with standard accessories. For MacBook Pro, this includes a USB-C power adapter and a USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable. For Mac mini, it's just a power cord.

Apple says that refurbished Macs undergo a "full functional test" as well as "thorough cleaning and inspection" and come with a one-year Apple Limited Warranty, renewable through AppleCare+.

Colleagues at MacRumors are convinced that refurbished Macs from Apple are almost indistinguishable from new ones, which makes it a great opportunity to save money directly through the company. However, you can often find better deals from third-party sellers such as Amazon.
