UK to provide Ukraine with $5.4bn in military aid in 2025

British Defence Secretary John Healey said that his country would provide Ukraine with £4.5bn ($5.4bn) in military aid this year.

Healy made the statement at the opening of the Ramstein meeting. He stressed that 2025 is a critical year for the war in Ukraine, and European countries continue to increase spending on defence and support for Kyiv.

Overall, the UK has increased its plans for military assistance to Ukraine in 2025 by £1.5 billion. The government has also recently announced a new aid package worth £150 million, which will include tanks, artillery, air-to-air missiles and other weapons. In addition, contracts will be signed for the maintenance of previously supplied equipment.

Last month, the UK signed agreements with BAE Systems and Sheffield Forgemasters to produce artillery barrels for Ukraine worth £61 million. Earlier, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the delivery of 150 artillery barrels to Ukraine in the coming weeks - the first British artillery to be manufactured in 20 years.
