Porsche made VW ID.Buzz into a support car for the 911 Dakar with a Rothmans-style livery

Porsche Classic Centre Gelderland from the Netherlands has created a unique ID. Buzz for a special customer. The electric minivan was transformed into a support vehicle for the Porsche 911 Dakar with a livery in the style of the historic Rothmans paint scheme, reminiscent of Porsche's victory in the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally.
Here's What We Know
Nowadays it is no longer allowed to advertise tobacco products, so the Rothmans brand had to be replaced by Rough Roads, which only emphasises the spirit of off-roading.
As for the technical component, this ID.Buzz is based on a rear-wheel drive passenger version. It produces 210 kW of power - enough to tow a 911 Dakar rally car while remaining fully electric.
Volkswagen's Porsche-inspired vans are not new. In 2023, Porsche Netherlands ordered eight special ID.Buzz Renndienst vehicles, paying homage to the air-cooled VW T1 and T2 vans that once supported the brand's race cars.
Even earlier, Porsche has modified VW vans, significantly improving their performance. The most notable of these is the B32, a 1985 VW Transporter T3 powered by a 3.2-litre six-cylinder Carrera 170kW opposition engine.
