Samsung may release One UI 8.0 on time despite One UI 7 delay

Samsung has faced criticism for the significant delay in the release of One UI 7.0 for older Galaxy smartphones. However, the situation with One UI 8.0, which is based on Android 16, may be better.
Here's What We Know
According to a reputable Ice Universe insider, the company is likely to release the One UI 8.0 update without significant delays. Although the exact date is unknown, this means that the update could be released in the third quarter of 2025, shortly after the release of Android 16.
Google plans to release the final version of Android 16 at the end of the second quarter of 2025. If Samsung manages to prepare One UI 8.0 without delays, users will get the update sooner than expected.
What's new in Android 16
Key new features include centralised photo selection for all apps, support for Health Records, improved audio via Bluetooth LE Audio, optimisation for complex smartphones and tablets, and an enhanced Ultra HDR mode (Super HDR on Samsung devices).
Google has also added improved cameras with support for Motion Photos, hybrid auto-exposure, colour temperature and tone adjustment. Samsung is likely to integrate these features into its system along with the Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec.
Hopefully, Samsung won't have to postpone the update due to unforeseen issues.
Android 16 Beta 2 allows you to choose between the camera and Google Wallet for the lock button gesture. This new option is available in the settings: "System", "Gestures", "Double press the power button".
