On 16 February, Counter-Strike 2 was close to setting a new online series peak: 75 thousand players were missing

On February 16, 2025, Counter-Strike 2 showed a high peak of simultaneous players on Steam, gathering 1,744,015 users at the same time.

Here's What We Know

The record for the Counter-Strike series was set in May 2023 with 1,818,773 simultaneous players, which was due to the announcement of the CS2 limited testing and the start of the latest CS:GO major in Paris.

Thus, Counter-Strike 2 lacked 75 thousand people to set a new record for the series, but it is a record for this particular part

Despite a slight decline in activity in January 2025, which may be due to a break in the professional esports season after the Shanghai Major, CS2 continues to hold the lead among games on Steam. With the beginning of February and the resumption of tournaments such as BLAST and IEM Katowice, the number of players has increased again.

Although there is a feeling that one day Counter-Strike 2 will be able to show a higher peak online and approach the 2 million simultaneous players figure.
