The film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which is a revival of the series, was released in May 2024, and now there is finally new information about the sequel.

Here's What We Know

Director Wes Ball said that work on the sequel has already begun, and the team aims to expand the universe presented in the previous films.

In the 2024 film, events unfold a few generations after Caesar's reign, and we are shown a world where apes have become the dominant species and humans have become as stupid as possible. The protagonist, a young ape named Noah, embarks on a journey that forces him to rethink the history of his people and the future of the relationship between apes and humans.

And although there are no specific details about the sequel, Ball speaks of the film with great enthusiasm.

"We have ideas about where we want to go. There are things in this film that you don't even realise are there. But the second film is almost always the best in a trilogy. That's how it works. It's where all the drama, all the conflict is, and it's where the really dark things happen, or the things that have consequences."

It's extremely exciting

The second part is expected to premiere in 2027, so there's still a long way to go.
