Japanese company King Jim will release on the American market an unusual device these days - a digital typewriter Pomera DM250.

This compact 7-inch gadget allows you to fully concentrate on writing texts, as it does not support any third-party functions that can distract you while working.

Here's What We Know

As the manufacturer notes, the Pomera DM250 is designed for those who work a lot with texts.

Unlike laptops and smartphones, the Pomera is designed purely for writing - no notifications, no pop-ups, no distractions. It's just you and your words

The gadget originally launched in Japan in 2022 and has performed well. Tomorrow (18 February) the pre-order launch will open in the US, and it's likely to arrive in Europe later.

The Pomera DM250 is a small device that weighs just 621 grams with a 7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, a mechanical keyboard and Linux-based software. The gadget has a storage of just 1.3GB, but there is support for SD cards up to 32GB.

The device supports USB 2.0 Type-C, Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth 4.2. Thanks to simple software, the digital typewriter instantly switches on after opening the lid, and the text on the screen is clearly readable even in the most lit spaces.

The developers claim that the Pomera DM250 can run for up to 20 hours without recharging.

The retail price is expected to be $499 dollars, but those who take advantage of the pre-order will get the device for $349.
