Meta has scheduled the first conference for AI developers called LlamaCon for 29 April
Meta has announced its first conference, LlamaCon, to be held on 29 April. The event is named after the company's generative artificial intelligence models known as Llama.
Here's What We Know
During the conference, Meta promises to share the latest developments in the field of open source AI to help developers create applications and products.
So far, there is no information about speakers or potential products that may be presented at the event. It is known that the company is working on a new version of Llama 4, which is scheduled for release in early 2025, so it is likely that visitors will see the first footage of this product.

Meta also promises to provide more details about LlamaCon in the coming weeks. In addition, the company announced the next major Connect event, which will take place on 17 September. This event promises a lot of new products for virtual and mixed reality developers, content creators, and AR glasses enthusiasts. Last year, Meta Connect 2024 presented the new Quest 3S glasses and the Orion AR glasses prototype.
According to TechCrunch, Meta is trying to understand how its competitor DeepSeek was able to develop technologies that rival its own while spending much less on development. It is reported that DeepSeek's new models may outperform Llama 4.
The company is also dealing with a lawsuit accusing it of using copyrighted material to train Llama models without proper permission.
