Eight Russian drone operators were seriously injured by remote detonation of FPV goggles supplied by volunteer organisations.

Here's What We Know

According to the Russian Telegram channel Dossier of a Spy, in early February, a series of sabotage attacks involving the remote detonation of FPV goggles took place in various units of the Russian Armed Forces. Between January and February 2025, approximately 80 sets of Skyzone Cobra FPV goggles were transferred to various Russian units as free aid. All the kits came from the same person.

The first case of explosion was recorded on 4 February in the Belgorod region, when an explosive device embedded in the goggles caused injuries to the soldier's face and eyes. Between 4 and 7 February, similar explosions occurred in Kursk region, as well as in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

During the inspection of the devices, C-4 explosive, a detonator and a battery were found inside the FPV goggles, and activation occurred when the cooling fan was turned on. Currently, the seizure of the mined kits is underway.

According to the occupiers, the sender of the parcels flew from Moscow to Istanbul on 3 February. There is no official comment from the Ukrainian special services.
