Google has announced two important updates to Google Lens on iOS that will make using the tool much more convenient and intuitive for users.

Now you can quickly search for anything you see on the screen with simple gestures using the Chrome browser or the Google app.

Here's What We Know

Previously, you had to take a screenshot or open a new tab to find information. Now it is a thing of the past.

One of the innovations allows users to simply highlight, draw, or tap on any part of the screen to instantly search using Google Lens. This means no more opening a new tab or manually copying and pasting text to search.

How To Switch It On

To use this feature in Chrome on iOS, you need to open the menu (three dots) and select the "Search Screen with Google Lens" option. Google app users can simply tap the menu and select "Search this Screen". You can search for anything from products, places, video content, and more in seconds.

What else is new

Google has also announced that in the future, the Lens icon will appear in the Chrome address bar, making it even easier for iOS users to access this feature. The update with quick search via Lens on iOS will be available this week worldwide.

Google Lens has received an update that uses artificial intelligence to provide additional information about objects. Now, when using Lens on iOS, AI Overview appears - a brief description of what users see on the screen with useful links. This update will be available first to English-speaking users in countries where AI Overviews is available, and will be rolled out to Android, iOS, and Chrome later.
