Fans of The Last of Us can get ready to watch the second season, as the premiere date is now known.

Here's What We Know

HBO has confirmed that the second season of The Last of Us will be released on 13 April and will be available for viewing on Max. The season will consist of seven episodes. In honour of the release date announcement, the channel also published new posters of Joel, Ellie, and Abby characters.

The second season will take place five years after the events of the first season. Joel and Ellie will be living with Joel's brother, Tommy, in their commune in Jackson. The new season adapts the events of the second game in the series, The Last of Us Part II.

Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Bella Ramsay (Ellie) will be joined by new cast members including Caitlin Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel and Tati Gabriel as Nora. Gabrielle will also play the lead role in Naughty Dog's new game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

The first season of The Last of Us was a hit for HBO1. Created by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann, the series has received numerous awards.
